150TH POST

There is something about the extreme juke medleys DJ Yung Tellem creates. In "Cherry Color", from last year, there is a two minute session with just crazy fast samples and cuts. Unlistenable for most. Then it suddenly switches into a backbeat and we´re at it again. Its like he used the technique we had to play Track & Field on Nintendo 8-bit: let that thumb shake and vibrate on the A-button to create most possible movement. Hardcore and progressive are not terms reserved for 90´s rave anymore. Lets take it to the next level. ROSÉ FITCITY L´Z 300 RUDE GIRL AIR MAX EYE GEL

Extensive Q&A with Derrick Carter

"But the parties in Chicago were essentially rent parties. It was five dollars to get in. That would get you a cup. There were three or four kegs, a little bar, BYOD. They would start around 1 AM, and go until the last person went home or the police showed up. Those experiences were a bit more renegade. Our parties were Mike The Sound Man and a strobe light. The UK was a more structured clubbing environment: RoboScans, lights, dancers. It was a bit more of a spectacle."
